Doors open at the KFC Yum! Center at 3:30 p.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 10, 2013) —The University of Louisville Athletic Department will stage a celebration event tonight for its men’s and women’s basketball teams at the KFC Yum! Center at 5 p.m. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.

UofL season ticket holders will have the opportunity to pick up free tickets to the event from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Athletic Ticket Office, located near Gate 2 of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Season ticket holders should bring their Cardinal Athletic Fund number, which they will receive in an email Tuesday night. After 2 p.m., based on availability, remaining seats may be picked up on a first come, first served basis at the KFC Yum! Center box office.

Louisville’s men’s basketball team won its third NCAA national championship in school history on Monday, defeating Michigan 82-76 on Monday in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Luke Hancock tied a season high with 22 points, knocking down five 3-pointers, and was the recipient of the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. Peyton Siva had 18 points, and Chane Behanan totaled a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Louisville outrebounded Michigan, 32-27, and the Cardinals grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
The Lady Cardinals team lost Tuesday night to University of Connecticut, 93-60, in the NCAA Women’s National Championship game in New Orleans. In this year’s tournament, the Louisville Lady Cardinals knocked out nationally ranked Baylor, Tennessee and Cal.
