FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State University (KSU) and Bermuda College have signed an articulation agreement to create an educational pathway for eligible Bermuda College nursing graduates to complete a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from KSU.
“Kentucky State University is excited to partner with Bermuda College to create educational pathways for nurses looking to further their education and expand their career opportunities,” said KSU President, Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo. “This reflects our strategic priority of affordable access through increasing program offerings.”
In the agreement, graduates of Bermuda College’s Associate of Science Degree (Nursing) who have passed with a minimum of ‘C’, have successfully completed the NCLEX exam, and have an unencumbered RN license, will be able to transition into the third year of the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Kentucky State University.
In addition to the traditional 2 + 2 agreement, Bermuda students with an undergraduate degree in another discipline can also apply for the BSN at Kentucky State University. Additionally, students will receive advisors from both Bermuda College and KSU to assist with the coordination of their programs. BC has more than 30 agreements and partnerships with colleges and universities in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the West Indies/Caribbean Islands.

“We’re always eager to promote the promotion of quality health care and the ability to work with [Bermuda College’s] students would be welcomed,” said Program Administrator for the School of Nursing, Dr. Mary Ellen Broaddus. “We would welcome that opportunity and hope that we can provide an enhanced provision of healthcare in Bermuda. Of course, Kentucky State University is probably the most diverse university in the state of Kentucky and I think for us, having them as a part of our institution would be a win for all.”
