LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is excited to celebrate its 50th annual Roundup, a four-day event packed with activities and celebrations for students, alumni, faculty and staff.
This year’s Roundup will be a tribute to the college’s rich history and vibrant present, and it’s a chance to look ahead to a promising future.
“Our college has never had more to celebrate, and what better occasion than the 50th anniversary of our annual Roundup tradition,” said Nancy Cox, vice president of land-grant engagement and dean of the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. “I look forward to reminiscing with our friends as we look ahead to all the achievements still on the horizon.”
Roundup 2023 is packed with various activities and celebrations from Sept. 27-30. Here’s a sneak peek at the highlights, all times EDT:
Sept. 27: Beef it Out @ the Barn, student and faculty teams go head-to-head to create the ultimate burger.
Sept. 28: Future Wildcat Day — high school students will learn about the college’s programs, student life, scholarships and more.
Sept. 29: Staff Appreciation Day, Dr. Lisa P. Collins Outstanding Staff Awards, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Awards, Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology social, Plant and Soil Sciences alumni social, Animal and Food Sciences reunion and the Alpha Gamma Rho reunion.
Sept. 30: The official 50th-anniversary celebration with live music, tailgating, a pep rally and Kentucky vs. University of Florida football game. Roundup tents open at 8 a.m. and meal lines open at 10 a.m.; 4-H Reunion, E.S. Good Barn Culton Suite, 8 a.m.; Alumni and Friends Tailgate, at 8 a.m.; program and pep rally, 10:30 a.m.
