MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State University’s commitment to academic excellence and student success for every member of the Eagle Nation led to it earning College of Distinction recognition in multiple categories for 2022-23. MSU has continued to provide the quality academic experience that led to the University being designated a College of Distinction in 2023-24.
MSU earned recognition in the following categories:

- Career Development
- Military Support
- Affordability
Created in 2000, Colleges of Distinction helps students and families navigate the selection process to find the best college for prospective students. Colleges of Distinction recognize schools prioritizing distinctions like student engagement, community, teaching and outcomes.
“These accolades serve as a testament to the collective efforts of our entire university community,” said Dr. Jay Morgan, president of MSU. “We remain dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the exceptional standards that have earned us recognition as a College of Distinction in these categories. “
In addition to being named a College of Distinction, MSU is also ranked in the Top 15 best public regional universities in the South for 2023 by U.S. News & World Report.
