Appalachian Regional Healthcare, the Saint Joseph Heart Institute and Surgical Associates of Lexington have entered into a clinical management agreement whereby Saint Joseph and Surgical Associates will provide cardiovascular surgery and related care at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center. “We believe this affiliation with Saint Joseph will help us ensure that our residents receive only the best care for advanced cardiac procedures and will spare patients and their families the cost and time associated with traveling to other areas for a procedure they can have right here at home by a team of nationally recognized medical professionals,” said Jerry Haynes, president and CEO of the ARH system. Dr. Michael Sekela will serve as medical director of the Hazard cardiac care program.
