The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Danville and Boyle County school systems to develop a business-education exchange program designed to give both parties a clearer picture of how to better prepare students for the workforce. Representatives from the school system have been making on-site visits to area businesses, while representatives from area industries are visiting local schools. The two groups then meet to share experiences and devise ways to resolve the school-business disconnect. The program was developed in response to a community survey that revealed strong concern on the part of local and regional business managers over a deficiency in job skills by many students entering the workforce.
