The Blue Grass Army Depot is one of three U.S. military installations selected to produce Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. In addition to producing MRAP vehicles, the depot will also handle the final assembly, storage and distribution for MRAP vehicles produced at the Army’s Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois and the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Ga. The MRAP project will necessitate hiring more than 100 new workers at the Blue Grass Army Depot.
