Russell County has been awarded a $2 million community development block grant from the state that will be used to aid the expansion of Bruss North America, a company that specializes in the manufacture of sealing systems for automotive transmissions and engines. Bruss’ expansion, which will create 150 new jobs, will focus on producing components for Chrysler’s new Phoenix V-6 engine. Bruss has had its North American headquarters in Russell County since 2001 and currently employs a workforce of 171.
