LEXINGTON, Ky. — Railbird Festival will return to the grounds of Keeneland for year two with arguably an even more rootsy lineup than the last with performances from Grammy award winners Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and Maren Morris.
Two other Grammy winners join them on the lineup––Tanya Tucker, who won her first two awards (Best Country Album for While I’m Livin’ and Best Country Song for “Bring My Flowers Now”) this year 47 years after being nominated for the first time, and Sarah Jarosz (Best American Roots Song for “Call My Name”), who this year took home her third award in the last seven years.
They’re joined by a diverse lineup of roots, blues, soul, rock and folk all of the top shelf variety––much like bourbon available on-site––and includes The Head & The Heart, Young The Giant, The Decemberists, Trampled By Turtles, Colter Wall, Whiskey Myers, Shovels & Rope, City and Colour, The Dead South, Cat Power, The War And Treaty, Hayes Carll, Cedric Burnside, Bonny Light Horseman, John Moreland, Town Mountain, Liz Cooper & The Stampede, Paul Cauthen, The New Respects and Southern Avenue.
Leading the festival’s Kentucky contingent of bands and rounding out the Railbird lineup are the nationally renowned Muhlenberg County natives Lost Dog Street Band, bluesy rock ‘n rollers Magnolia Boulevard, southern belle Senora May, indie rockers Bendigo Fletcher, former Sundy Best star Nicholas Jamerson and Western Kentucky cowboy Grayson Jenkins.
