Weak demand for coal has forced Miller Brothers Coal to reduce production at several mines and lay off a total of 85 workers in Floyd, Knott and Magoffin counties. The company, which is currently operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy, has also reduced hours for approximately 200 remaining employees.
