Performance Food Group, a Virginia-based food service distribution company, has acquired Somerset Food Service for an undisclosed amount. Somerset Food Service, which employs approximately 130 people, is now part of the Performance Food Group broadline distribution operating companies, operating as “Performance Foodservice – Somerset.” Somerset General Manager Tommy Jones has been named president of Performance Foodservice – Somerset. Performance Food Group markets and distributes more than 68,000 national and private-label food and food-related products to over 41,000 restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, healthcare and other institutions.
