Honored by Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Oct. 17, 2016a) ā Northern Kentucky UniversityāsĀ Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) was selected as one of the fiveĀ finalists for the āOutstanding Contributor to Venture Creationā award at the 2016Ā Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centersā (GCEC) annual conference.
Other schools selected as finalists were Arizona State University, University of Michigan, Northwestern University, and UNCĀ ChapelĀ Hill. GCEC awards are judged by peer entrepreneurship directors to recognize the very best in entrepreneurship education. This year had a record number of applicants and more than 450 participants from around the world.
CIEĀ was formed in 2014 to create, advance, enable, and expand education opportunities across campus as well as in the community. Its advisory board includes leaders from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky startup and technology world; through these connections, NKU students receive unique opportunities to engage with and learn from these and other leaders.
Last year, the CIE received the Exceptional Activities in Entrepreneurship Across Campus award from the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers. The GCEC is the nationās premier organization for university-based entrepreneurship centers. With membership from more than 225 entrepreneurship centers across the globe, the organization links universities of all sizes to share best practices and to advance, strengthen, and celebrate university-based entrepreneurship centers and programs.
