Kentucky Women Veterans Regional Conference Oct. 1 in Hazard

HAZARD, Ky. (Sept. 2, 2016) — The inaugural Kentucky Women Veterans Regional Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Hazard Community College. The free event, hosted by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, includes lunch, guest speakers, networking opportunities, vendors, door prizes and entertainment.

Participants will learn about:

• Veterans benefits and services from accredited KDVA counselor Missy Hall
• Women’s healthcare from Amy Brown, VAMC readjustment counselor
• Organizing a women veterans group in your community from Sherry Whitehouse and Phyllis Abbott, founders of Lady Vets Hands of Hope
• Employment opportunities from the Kentucky Career Center
