Maliya Homer, a rising junior at Lafayette High School, was among the 43 students invited to spend June12-July 2 at Georgetown College enhancing their creative thinking skills through the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE). They were chosen from a pool of 170 applicants from across Kentucky.
GSE is an immersive, exploratory dive into entrepreneurship and innovation that exposes students to the mindset, culture, and skills necessary to start a company. The program emphasizes caring about profitability, social equity and environmental conservation. In this high-energy summer experience, it’s safe to fail. And after the three-week session, some teams launch an actual company, product, or service.
This program is run by KEEN Start (Kentucky Entrepreneurship Education Network). Rising tenth, eleventh and twelfth-graders may apply. For questions, email answers@kentuckygse.com or call (859) 568-2199.
