Paul Keaton one of 10 finalists to compete tonight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 28, 2015) — Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee champ Paul Keaton will compete at 8 tonight in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland.
Keaton, an eighth-grader at Christ Central School in Pikeville, finished tied for 13th in last year’s event.
This year, about 300 students from around the country competed in the competition, with preliminaries Tuesday and Wednesday and semifinals this morning.
Finals will air live on ESPN.
