Updated app lets Lexington citizens interact with local government

App available for free download

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 18, 2014) — A mobile device app will make it easier for Lexington residents to interact with local government. Today, Mayor Jim Gray announced that the LexCall 311 app is now available for free download.

“The new LexCall 311 app is a quick and convenient way to connect with city services and information,” Gray said. “Citizens can report service requests such as waste collection, weeds and potholes with just a few taps on their smart phone or tablet.”

The app replaces an outdated version that was launched in April 2010. LexCall Customer Service Manager Pat Tatum said the app provides more information and has improved functionality.

“Users can view a daily traffic ticker and see a schedule for the Valley View Ferry,” Tatum said. “We also added the option for users to report flooding incidents and a direct link to the City’s website.”

When a report is filed through the LexCall app, users can submit the location, photos and comments about the request or issue. The reports are documented by LexCall customer service specialists and directed to the appropriate division in City government.

The app can be downloaded on the App Store, Google Play, by searching for “LexCall,” or by going to the LexCall website. Citizens who had the old LexCall app should delete it and download the current version.
