Governor Beshear makes appointments to Boards and Commissions

 FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 9, 2012) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointment to Kentucky boards and commissions:

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Environmental Quality Commission:

 

  • ·        Martha R. Tarrant, of Lexington, is an architect at Ross Tarrant Architects. The appointment replaces Stephanie J. McSpirit, whose term has expired. Tarrant shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

 

  • ·        Mark Grisham, of Paducah, is a health physicist for United States Enrichment Corp. The appointment replaces Kimberly S. McCann, who has resigned. Grisham shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2014.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Thomas R. Herman to the commission to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

 

  • ·        Thomas R. Herman, of Louisville, is an environmental engineer for Zeon Chemicals L.P.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Frank O. McAfee to the Apprenticeship and Training Council to serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2015.

 

  • ·        Frank O. McAfee, of Louisville, is the area apprenticeship director for Louisville Buildings and Trade. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Cynthia H. McCullough, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Karen Quinn to the Kentucky Environmental Education Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 5, 2014.

 

  • ·        Karen Quinn, of Simpsonville, is an attorney for Kentucky Housing Corp. She represents environmental interests. The appointment replaces Thomas J. Fitzgerald, who has resigned.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Developmental Disabilities Council:

 

  • ·        Colleen Payne, of Louisville, is a program coordinator for the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky. She represents parents or guardians of children with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Linda C. Williams, whose term has expired. Payne shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2012.

 

  • ·        David Minor, of Ashland, is an employee at Crossroads of Hope Inc. He represents parents or guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Lauri K. Knabel, whose term has expired. Minor shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Dina J. Nelson, of Erlanger. She represents parents or guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces James R. McCormick, whose term has expired. Nelson shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Julia E. Steinman, of Lexington, is an employee at Joseph Beth Booksellers. She represents individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Michael E. Godwin, whose term has expired. Steinman shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Tammi Halvorson, of Paducah, is the president of HMC Inc. She represents parents or guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Terri D. Killian, whose term has expired. Halvorson shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Joe L. Cowan, of Monticello, is an instructional specialist and ADA coordinator at Somerset Community College. He represents individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Mary Anne Ostertag, whose term has expired. Cowan shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Sherry S. Sanders, of Somerset. She represents individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Barry Gilbert, whose term has expired. Sanders shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Tina Jackson, of Louisa, is a clerk at Jackson Peg Tube Stands LLC. She represents individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces David H. Allgood, whose term has expired. Jackson shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

  • ·        Dana Cox Nickles, of Frankfort, is assistant deputy Attorney General. She represents parents or guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Donna E. Brickman, whose term has expired. Nickles shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring July 16, 2014:

 

  • ·        Eric W. Wright, of Louisville, is the Family Resource Coordinator for Jefferson County Public Schools. He represents parents or guardians of an institutionalized individual with a developmental disability.

 

  • ·        Missy R. McKiernan, of Louisville, is an occupational therapist at Hazelwood Center. She represents parents or guardians of an institutionalized individual with a developmental disability.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Sports Authority:

 

  • ·        Douglas R. Hall, of Louisville, is the executive vice president of Evergreen Rehabilitation. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Amy C. Cardwell, whose term has expired. Hall shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 4, 2016.

 

  • ·        Wade Houston Sr., of Prospect, is the executive vice president of Houston-Johnson Inc. He represents the Horse Racing Commission. The appointment replaces Michael A. Pitino, whose term has expired. Houston shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 4, 2016.

 

  • ·        Janna M. Clark, of Elizabethtown, is a sports and sales director at the Elizabethtown Tourism Bureau. She represents members at large. The appointment replaces Charles Frederick Sutterlin, whose term has expired. Clark shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 4, 2016.

 

  • ·        Stephen N. St. John, of Pikeville, is general manager of the EastKentucky Exposition Center. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces James M. Hill, who has resigned. St. John shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 4, 2015.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Charles Montgomery Haddaway IV to the authority to serve for a term expiring Jan. 4, 2016.

 

  • ·        Charles Montgomery Haddaway IV, of Pleasure Ridge Park, is executive director of the Kentucky Recreation and Park Society.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Robert L. Rogers to the Local Distribution Fund Oversight Committee to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2015.

 

  • ·        Robert L. Rogers, of Murray, is the superintendent of the Murray Board of Education. He represents the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. The appointment replaces William G. Rye, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the committee to serve for terms expiring Jan. 1, 2015:

 

  • ·        Stan L. Holmes, of Radcliff, is a Radcliff councilmember. He represents the Kentucky League of Cities.

 

  • ·        George C. “Lisle” Cheatham II, of Greensburg, is Mayor of Greensburg. He represents the Kentucky League of Cities.

 

  • ·        Elaine Farris, of Winchester, is the superintendent of Clark County Public Schools. She represents the Kentucky School Board Association.

 

  • ·        William Jeffrey Eaton, of Fountain Run, is the assistant general manager at South Central RTC. He represents the Kentucky School Board Association.

 

  • ·        Vince Lang, of Frankfort, is the executive director of the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties.

 

  • ·        Henry W. Bertram, of Falmouth, is the Pendleton County Judge-Executive. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Benjamin T. Quinn Sr. to the Motorcycle Advisory Commission for Highway Safety to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

 

  • ·        Benjamin T. Quinn Sr., of Glasgow, is a civil engineer and the president and owner of American Engineers Inc. He represents the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors. The appointment replaces Gary L. Johnson, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the commission:

 

  • ·        Michael A. Canchola, of Lebanon Junction, is an inspector for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He represents the Kentucky Motorcycle Association. Canchola shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2014.

 

  • ·        Tim Cody, of Hindman, is the director of safety training for Knott County Fiscal Court. He represents the Kentucky Motorcycle Safety Education Advisory Commission. Cody shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2014.

 

  • ·        Tracy A. Lovell, of Georgetown, is an engineer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He represents the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Office of Construction and Operations. Lovell shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Humanities Council to serve for terms expiring Jan. 1, 2016:

 

  • ·        Brian T. Burton, of Lexington, is an investment adviser at PNC Bank. The appointment replaces Suzanne D. Rose, whose term has expired.

 

  • ·        Mary Elizabeth Hammond, of Paducah, is the executive director of the Paducah/McCracken County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The appointment replaces Harry K. Herren, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring Jan. 1, 2016:

 

  • ·        Howard V. Roberts, of Pikeville, is an administrator at the University of Pikeville.

 

  • ·        Reed Polk, of Lexington, is retired.

 

  • ·        Aristofanes Cedeno, of Louisville, is a professor at the University of Louisville.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Oliver H. “Scott” Barber III to the Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2016.

 

  • ·        Oliver H. “Scott” Barber III, of Louisville, is an attorney at Stites and Harbison. He represents residents of western Kentucky.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Barbara B. Pugh to the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs to serve for a term expiring Dec. 20, 2015.

 

  • ·        Barbara B. Pugh, of Paintsville, is a speech and language pathologist at the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The appointment replaces Kimberly S. May-Downey, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Big Sandy Community and Technical College Board of Directors:

 

  • ·        April Preece, of Lovely, is a homemaker. The appointment replaces Peggy B. Stepp, who has resigned. Preece shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2013.

 

  • ·        Justin Roark, of Salyersville, is a legal assistant at Grover Arnett. The appointment replaces Charles Phillip Wheeler, whose term has expired. Roark shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 9, 2017.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Gene E. Layne Jr. to the board to serve for a term expiring Dec. 9, 2017.

 

  • ·        Gene E. Layne Jr., of Pikeville, is a traffic and permits supervisor at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Cheryl D. Moore to the MadisonvilleCommunity College Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Nov. 22, 2017.

 

  • ·        Cheryl D. Moore, of Madisonville, is a clinical laboratory coordinator for Trover Health System. The appointment replaces Lisa D. Ramey, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Bonita M. Hatfield to the board to serve for a term expiring Nov. 22, 2017.

 

  • ·        Bonita M. Hatfield, of Marion, is a retired teacher.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Capital Planning Advisory Board to serve for terms expiring March 30, 2016. This order is effective April 1, 2012.

 

  • ·        Sherron Jackson, of Frankfort, is a budget analyst for the Council on Postsecondary Education. The appointment replaces Ryan Keith, whose term has expired.

 

  • ·        James W. Link, of Lexington, is the deputy secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet. The appointment replaces David Buchta, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Mary Lassiter to the board to serve for a term expiring March 30, 2016.

 

  • ·        Mary Lassiter, of Frankfort, is the state budget director and secretary of the Executive Cabinet.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Martha A. Gregory to the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians and Nutritionists to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2015.

 

  • ·        Martha A. Gregory, of Louisville, is a registered dietitian at MGA Inc. She represents health care facilities other than hospitals. The appointment replaces Jane K. Faith, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Single Family Dwellings Advisory Committee to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2014:

 

  • ·        Frank L. Wallace, of Madisonville, is a building official for the City of Madisonville. He represents the Code Administrators Association of Kentucky.

 

  • ·        Michael L. Montgomery, of Louisville, is a homebuilder for MONTCO Builders Inc. He represents the Home Builders Association of Kentucky.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Wynn Radford to the Hopkinsville and Christian County Land Bank Authority Inc. to serve for a term expiring Oct. 16, 2015.

 

  • ·        Wynn Radford, of Hopkinsville, is an agent for Higgins Insurance.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Advisory Council to serve for terms expiring May 9, 2014:

 

  • ·        Darla A. Bailey, of Louisville, is a social worker and is president and owner of Kaleidoscope. She represents health care providers. The appointment replaces Pamela D. Klope, whose term has expired.

 

  • ·        Ann M. Sparks, of Burlington, is retired. She represents local health departments. The appointment replaces Karen A. Kryscio, whose term has expired.

 

  • ·        Nancy M. Crewe, of Richmond, is a public health director for the Madison County Health Department. She represents state government agencies dealing with dementia. The appointment replaces Phyllis A. Parker, whose term has expired.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council:

 

  • ·        Deborah D. Danner, of Lexington, is a professor at the University of Kentucky. She represents the medical research community. Danner shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2014.

 

  • ·        Tonya M. Tincher Cox, of Nicholasville, is the vice president of education and programs for the Alzheimer’s Association. She represents the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Alzheimer’s Association. Tincher Cox shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2014.

 

  • ·        Jan M. Scherrer, of Versailles, is a speech pathologist. She represents consumers. Scherrer shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2014.

 

  • ·        Keith R. Knapp, of LaGrange, is a health care administrator for Christian Care Communities. He represents health care providers. Knapp shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2015.

 

  • ·        Stephen J. Olding, of Independence, is communications director of the Alzheimer’s Association. He represents Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati. Olding shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2015.

 

  • ·        Betty Higgins, of Lexington, is retired. She represents consumers. Higgins shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2015.

 

  • ·        Sarah J. Wilding, of Frankfort, is a registered nurse for the Kentucky Department for Public Health. She represents state government agencies dealing with dementia. Wilding shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2015.

 

  • ·        Nancy J. Addington, of White Mills, is the director of Lincoln Trail Area Development District. She represents local health departments. Addington shall serve for a term expiring May 9, 2015.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Art Williams to the Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental Stewardship Board to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending March 13, 2013.

 

  • ·        Art Williams, of Louisville, is executive director of the Kentucky Conservation Committee. He represents consumer advocates. The appointment replaces Thomas J. Fitzgerald, who has resigned.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board:

 

  • ·        Hasan Davis, of Paint Lick, is acting commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice. He represents the Department of Juvenile Justice. The appointment replaces Ronald Haws, who has resigned. Davis shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2012.

 

  • ·        Robert E. Douglas, of Erlanger, is executive director of the Kentucky Crime Prevention Coalition. He represents private nonprofit organizations. The appointment replaces Rendell T. Butler, who has resigned. Douglas shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2014.

 

  • ·        Adrian C. Wilhite, of Lawrenceburg, is a student. She represents youths under the age of 24. The appointment replaces Britt Mahan, who has resigned. Wilhite shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2014.

 

  • ·        Chelsea Hart, of Cecilia, is a student. She represents youths under the age of 24. The appointment replaces Elizabeth N. Jenkins, who has resigned. Hart shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2014.

 

  • ·        Teresa C. James, of Versailles, is acting commissioner of the Department for Community Based Services. She represents the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The appointment replaces Patricia Wilson, who has resigned. James shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2015.

 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Hemophilia Advisory Committee to serve for terms expiring Nov. 30, 2015:

 

  • ·        Salvatore J. Bertolone, of Louisville, is a pediatric hematologist and oncologist at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He represents the Kentucky Medical Association.

 

  • ·        Tracey C. Gaslin, of Fisherville, is a nurse practitioner and medical director of the Center for Courageous Kids. She represents health care providers.
