Morehead State names VP for university advancement

Allison Caudill

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State University (MSU) has appointed Allison Caudill (Class of 2005, 2009) its new vice president for university advancement as of Jan. 1 2025.

Caudill, who is currently the executive director of alumni relations and development at MSU, will bring her extensive experience and passion for the University to her new leadership role.  Current vice president for university advancement, Rick Hesterberg (Class of 1980), recently announced his plans to retire at the end of 2024 and will continue to serve as vice president until the end of the year.

Caudill’s appointment begins January 1, 2025.

Caudill has nearly two decades of experience working in institutional advancement. In her current role, Caudill has successfully provided strategic vision, leadership, and oversight for alumni relations and development, guiding efforts to enhance lifelong alumni engagement and increase philanthropic support for the university.

As vice president for university advancement, Caudill will oversee all advancement functions, including Alumni Relations and Development, Communications and Marketing, Kentucky Folk Art Center, Morehead State Public Radio and the Eagle Trace Golf Course. She will continue to build upon the strong foundation she has established, leading efforts to support MSU’s mission and drive the University’s long-term success.

“We are excited to elevate Allison Caudill to this key leadership position,” said MSU President Jay Morgan. “Her dedication to Morehead State, combined with her proven ability to lead and innovate, makes her the perfect choice to advance our goals of greater support and awareness of Morehead State University.”

Caudill will also serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Morehead State University Foundation.  The foundation, with current assets totaling over $78 million dollars, is a tax-exempt education foundation that manages and administers the private contributions provided by alumni and donors.

“Allison has proven to be a transformational and visionary leader,” said Perry Allen (1983), chair of the MSU Foundation Board. “I am confident her experience has prepared her to lead and serve in this important role.  Morehead State University has a rich history, and the Foundation will continue to be a key factor in future success.”

Caudill is an alumna of MSU, holding both a bachelor’s degree and MBA. Her deep connection to the university, coupled with her professional experience, uniquely positions her to champion MSU’s advancement initiatives.

“It is an honor to serve my alma mater in this important role. Working at Morehead State is more than a job for me, and I am driven by my deep connection to this exceptional community of alumni, faculty, staff and students,” Caudill said. “I look forward to collaborating with the incredible University Advancement team to support the mission and values of our institution.  I’m thrilled to give back to my community and to help support the future of MSU and everyone it serves.”
