Gov. Beshear announces new appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

Gov. Andy Beshear has announced the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

  • David Figg has been appointed to the University of Kentucky board of trustees. Figg, of Beaver Dam, is the chief executive officer of Rice Drugs Inc. He replaces Kimberly McCann, whose term has expired.
  • Derrick Helm has been appointed to the Western Kentucky University board of regents. Helm, of Jamestown, is an attorney at Helm, Shearer & Wilson. He replaces Linda Ball, whose term has expired.
  • Matt Butler, of Jenkins, has been named as the commonwealth’s attorney for the 47th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky. Butler replaces Edison Banks, who has resigned.
  • Bryan Daniel has been named as a magistrate for Ohio County. Daniel, of North Hartford, is a journeyman millwright at Millwright Local Union 1076. He replaces Kenneth Calloway, who has resigned, and will serve until the next general election.
  • Scottie Collier has been appointed to the Education Professionals Standards Board. Collier is a principal with Jefferson County Public Schools.
  • Tessa Wilkerson, Robin Rider-Osborne and Katrina Ford have been appointed to the Statewide Independent Living Council. Wilkerson, of Livermore, is a social worker at McLean County Schools. Rider-Osborne, of Covington, is retired. Ford, of Louisville, is a volunteer for the Center for Accessible Living.
  • Alan Long and Eric Scott have been appointed to the State Board of Accountancy. Long, of Richmond, is a self-employed certified public accountant. Scott, of Louisville, is a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young U.S. LLP.
  • Brenna Caudill has been appointed to serve on the Kentucky Commission on Women. Caudill, of Henderson, is the superintendent of the filtration plant at Evansville Water and Sewer Utility
  • Stephanie Sharp, Carol Estes, Julia Sheets, Sally Ray and Shannon Masterson have been appointed as members of the Hart-Supported Living Council. Sharp, of Owensboro, is a volunteer advocate for individuals with disabilities. Estes, of Warsaw, is retired. Sheets, of Elizabethtown, is a caregiver. Ray, of Bowling Green, is retired. Masterson, of Louisville, is a self-employed occupational therapist.
  • Heather McConnell, Andrea Strassburg and Ryan Guyder have been appointed to the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities. McConnell, of Murray, is a full-time caregiver and registered nurse. Strassburg, of Lexington, is the ward clerk at University of Kentucky Healthcare. Guyder, of Lexington, is the project coordinator at Independence Place Inc.
  • Mark Vaught and Greg Caudill have been named as members of the Real Estate Appraisers Board. Vaught, of Somerset, is an appraiser at Childers Financial Services. Caudill, of Danville, is a retired bank executive.
  • Christy Terry has been named as a member of the State Board for the Certification of Librarians. Terry, of Paintsville, is a librarian at Johnson County Library.
