Baptist Health breaks ground on facility designed to streamline healthcare for patients

Baptist Health, in partnership with Dallas-based Intuitive Health, has broken ground on its third dual emergency and urgent care facility.

The 11,400-square-foot Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Glenmary will be located on Bardstown Road in Louisville and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. The project follows the successful launch of the Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Jeffersonville in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in 2022, and the Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Blankenbaker in Louisville in 2023.

The combined ER and urgent care facility eliminates the need for patients to self-diagnose before seeking medical attention. Upon arrival, each patient is evaluated by a board-certified emergency physician, who determines the appropriate level of care required. The seamless triage process ensures that patients receive precisely the care they need, whether urgent or emergent. The facility’s billing model charges patients only for the specific services rendered. This approach not only potentially reduces out-of-pocket expenses but also saves valuable time and alleviates the stress of choosing between ER and urgent care.

“Our partnership with Baptist Health continues to yield innovative health care solutions that truly benefit the community,” said Thom Herrmann, CEO of Intuitive Health. “We’re excited to see this concept expand further in Kentucky, bringing high-quality, efficient care closer to more communities.”
