Gov. Andy Beshear has announced the following new appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
- Velvet Dowdy and Thomas Glover have been appointed as members of the Henderson Community College board of directors for terms expiring June 3, 2030. Dowdy, of Henderson, is a retired educator. Glover, of Providence is a pharmacist and businessman.
- Robert Akin has been named as a member of the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation board of directors. Akin, of Greensburg, is the president of the Bluegrass Central Labor Council.
- Jonathan Jett, of Hazard, has been named as a member of the School Facilities Construction Commission. Jett is a retired superintendent and current project manager for Partners for Rural Impact.
- Shari Polur has been named as a member of the Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corp. board of directors. Polur is a Louisville attorney who practices elder and special needs law.
- Sean Higgins has been named as a member of the Kentucky Center for the Arts Corp. Higgins, of Louisville, is the owner of Mint Julep Experiences.
- Annissa Franklin, of Nicholasville, has been named to the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board. Franklin is the chief administrative officer of the Urban League of Lexington.
