Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
- Eric Farris has been appointed as a member of the State Board of Elections for a term expiring Sept. 15, 2026. Farris, of Louisville, is an attorney at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. He has been appointed to serve for the remainder of J. Michael Brown’s term following Brown’s passing.
- Kerry Harvey has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission for a term expiring May 6, 2028. Harvey, of Lexington, is the former secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. He replaces Naveed Chowhan, whose term has expired.
- Lisa Haydon and Josh Hardesty have been named to the Personnel Board to serve term expiring Jan. 1, 2028. Haydon, of Springfield, is a retired public servant. She replaces Marc Farris, whose term has expired. Hardesty, of Louisville, is the vice president of the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association. He replaces Yvette Gentry, whose term has expired.
- Joni Upchurch has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2026. Upchurch, of Albany, is a cosmetology teacher at Somerset Community and Technical College. She represents cosmetology teachers as a member of the board and replaces Kathy Burton, who has resigned.
