Baptist Health Richmond Cancer Center renovation and expansion project now underway

RICHMOND, Ky. — The Baptist Health Richmond Cancer Center construction project is now underway to provide a newly renovated and expanded patient space. From diagnosis and treatment to recovery and survival, the new center will allow clinicians to care for more patients from Madison and surrounding counties to ensure they can access care close to home.

“Our clinicians have been delivering advanced therapies, providing the newest treatments and offering compassionate support that makes a difference in our community for many years,” said Greg D. Gerard, Baptist Health Richmond President. “The new Cancer Center will provide the space needed to enhance each patient’s experience while expanding capacity to care for more patients in their greatest time of need.”

The new center, located directly inside the hospital’s South Entrance, will be more easily accessible for patients. The renovated space has been designed with the patient experience in mind at every process step. It features a serene and restorative healing atmosphere with calming aesthetics and additional treatment spaces to accommodate more patients while reducing the wait time for life-changing and lifesaving services.

This project marks a historic partnership with the Baptist Health Foundation Richmond as it is the first Baptist Health Richmond construction project of this magnitude to be fully funded by the foundation – largely thanks to the incredible generosity of the Telford Foundation.

“The residents of Madison and surrounding counties will soon have local access to a first-class Cancer Center thanks to the generosity of the Telford Foundation and so many others throughout our community,” said Kari Martin, Baptist Health Foundation Richmond Director. “It is truly amazing what we can do when we unite for a shared purpose. We continue to seek generosity in support of exceptional cancer care programming and services and invite you to join them on this exciting journey.”
