The Living Arts & Science Center’s new exhibit in the Marksbury Discovery Room

LEXINGTON, Ky. — This fall, explore the natural world through the Living Connections exhibit at The Living Arts & Science Center (LASC)! Living Connections is a hands-on, educational opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the ways we, as humans, connect with our natural world. An indoor treehouse interconnects sections about weather, energy, biological evolution, and animal engineering, following the Fayette County Public Schools core science curriculum.

“From a vision to an experience! Seeing what can be created with so many wonderful minds and hands involved. I am over the moon with anticipation for this exhibit to open”, said LASC Director of Education Callie Northern.

The Marksbury Discovery Room is an interactive learning space that changes themes yearly. For Living Connections, LASC partnered with many community organizations, including LFUCG Partners for Youth, the Governor’s Scholars Program, high school student workers, Black Soil KY, and the University of Kentucky STEM & Arts Administration programs.

“From the moment you step into Living Connections, you are immediately transported into what we do best. Our unique blend of Arts and Sciences come together in a magical way where learning doesn’t even feel like learning,” said LASC Executive Director Jeanette Tesmer. The Executive Director will be available on-site after the ribbon cutting for an interview. 362 North Martin Luther King Blvd.

Living Connections opens on September 5th, and LASC will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 9th at 10:30 AM that is free and open to the public. This exhibit is made possible by the generous support of Toyota of Kentucky, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, LFUCG, the Kentucky Arts Council, and LexArts.
