Fort Knox National Co., a Louisville-based company that provides electronic bill-pay services for a wide variety of clients, plans to close its payment-processing center in Elizabethtown next month. Company officials said new competitive forces were among the factors contributing to the decision, along with the loss of a major client last fall. The closing will result in the elimination of approximately 80 jobs. FKNC will continue to have a presence in Elizabethtown through its Military Assistance Corp., which process payments for military personnel.
