Corning Inc.’s Harrodsburg plant is among those affected by the company’s decision to reduce its display technology workforce by 16 percent. Corning’s Harrodsburg facility has been in operation since 1952, when it began producing precision glass for military applications. Today, the plant serves as a proving ground for new glass composition. As of press time, the exact number of Harrodsburg employees being laid off had not been released.
