The Berea City Council has authorized moving forward with an intent-to-purchase contract for the former Parker Seal plant. The 70,000-s.f. building sits on nine acres and has not been in use for the last decade. The city, which has offered $150,000 for the facility, has floated a number of ideas for the 58-year-old building, including a recreation center, a business incubator and a police roll-call center. The council is required to vote again on the proposal before the transaction is final.
