Carmeuse Lime and Stone has furloughed 34 hourly employees at its Black River facility due to a decline in product demand, according to a report in The (Maysville) Ledger-Independent. In addition to the Black River facility in Butler, Carmeuse also has a plant in Maysville. Between the two operations, the company has more than 400 employees.
