The Hancock Clarion reports that Aleris International has recalled 37 workers who were laid off from the company’s Lewisport aluminum rolling mill earlier this year. The Lewisport facility saw some 200 workers released in a series of layoffs last year as the company worked through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The most recent recall – Aleris also recalled 25 workers in July – is due to openings being created at the facility as a result of retirements.
