Hinkle Contracting Co. has merged with Summit Materials, a Washington, D.C., company that was formed in 2008 to acquire and grow companies in the aggregate and heavy-side building materials industry. Paris-based Hinkle was founded by the Hinkle family more than 65 years ago and now employs approximately 850 employees. The company operates 12 aggregate and 17 asphalt facilities, three concrete block plants, and has more than 250 million tons of limestone reserves. Hinkle’s existing management team will remain with the company.
